The Story Behind Collar Band™

As a sports mom, it drives me crazy when my son uses his basketball jersey or T-Shirt to wipe sweat from his face. Not to mention all of the money we have spent on replacements.

While playing basketball, players often sweat/perspire excessively. The sweat lingers on their faces, necks, upper chest, and upper back. As a result, many players use the collar of their jersey, or their hands, to wipe the sweat off. Their sweat also may linger until they can access a hand towel.

Other people, in particular, active children, including those in youth basketball, use the hem of their T-shirts to wipe the sweat off their faces and necks. As a result, their T-shirts become damp and dirty, The collar is stretched out of shape thereby losing the proper fit of the garment.

As a result, The Collar Band™ was created.

The Story Behind Collar Band

As a sports mom, it drives me crazy when my son uses his basketball jersey or T-shirt to wipe sweat from his face.

While playing basketball, players often sweat/perspire excessively and the sweat lingers on their faces, necks, upper chest, and upper back. As a result, many players use the bottom front of their jersey, or their hands to wipe the sweat off or the sweat lingers until they are off the court where they can access a hand towel.

Other people, in particular, active children, including those in youth basketball, use the bottom front of their T-shirts, or lift up their collars, to wipe the sweat off their faces and necks. As a result, their T-shirts become damp and dirty, and the collar is stretched out of shape thereby losing the proper fit of the garment.

For several years, I worked on the concept, and in 2023, The Collar Band™ was created.
